The BPS Temporary Pipeline Conditioning Odorizer is designed for conditioning new or under-odorized natural gas pipeline systems before they are placed into normal service. Pipeline conditioning is commonly required when new steel or polyethylene pipe absorbs odorant, causing downstream odorant levels to remain lower than expected during startup.

This portable odorizer provides flow-proportional odorant injection during the conditioning period, helping operators build odorant saturation in the pipeline while maintaining better control of injection rate and downstream concentration. The system is well suited for temporary installations where permanent odorization equipment is not yet available, not practical, or not located at the correct point for conditioning work.

Common applications include new main commissioning, low-flow startup, odor fade correction, distribution pipeline conditioning, and temporary odorization during construction or maintenance activities.

Application Advantages

  • Supports pipeline conditioning before normal gas service
  • Helps address odorant absorption in new pipe
  • Useful for steel and polyethylene pipeline startup
  • Provides controlled, flow-proportional odorant injection
  • Supports downstream odorant verification and field documentation

Shared Equipment Capabilities

The odorizer uses continuous, non-pulsating odorant injection, precision odorant flow measurement, high-pressure operation up to 1500 PSI, remote monitoring capability, and a portable field-deployable design for temporary natural gas odorization projects.
