The BPS Commissioning Odorizer for Odor Retention is designed for new natural gas systems that need controlled odorant exposure during commissioning. New pipe, fittings, and internal surfaces can temporarily absorb odorant, making it difficult to maintain stable downstream readings during initial startup.

This portable odorizer provides a temporary injection point during commissioning so operators can introduce odorant at a controlled rate while verifying odor retention downstream. It is useful for new distribution mains, service extensions, campus gas systems, RNG interconnect piping, and other systems where odorant stability must be confirmed before normal operation.

The system helps bridge the gap between construction completion and normal service by allowing odorant retention to be evaluated before relying solely on permanent odorization equipment.

Application Advantages

  • Supports commissioning of new gas pipeline systems
  • Helps evaluate odorant retention before normal operation
  • Useful where new pipe may absorb odorant during startup
  • Provides temporary injection during low-flow commissioning conditions
  • Supports downstream verification and startup documentation

Shared Equipment Capabilities

The odorizer uses continuous, non-pulsating odorant injection, precision odorant flow measurement, high-pressure operation up to 1500 PSI, remote monitoring capability, and a portable field-deployable design for temporary natural gas odorization projects.
