The Challenge with Traditional Methods

Sight glasses and tank level gauges have been the go-to tools for monitoring odorant tank levels. However, these methods can be prone to inaccuracies. Sight glasses can become cloudy or stained, making it difficult to read the levels accurately. Tank level gauges, on the other hand, can malfunction or provide false readings due to mechanical issues or calibration errors. These inaccuracies can lead to either overfilling or underfilling odorant tanks, both of which pose significant risks.

The Thermal Imaging Solution

An infrared image may indicate a temperature boundary associated with a liquid-vapor interface when conditions create sufficient contrast. It does not directly measure odorant volume and should not be described as universally precise.
